Job summary

Merck is seeking a Technician (Technical) for Operations to support manufacturing and packaging activities. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of equipment, with strict adherence to GMP and SOP procedures to ensure product quality and safety.

The technician will operate, set up, and monitor equipment, perform line clearance, document activities, and assist maintenance with routine upkeep.

Qualifications

Proficient with basic mechanical/electrical equipment troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.
First responder to equipment challenges; diagnose and address issues to keep production moving.
Follow GMPs and SOPs; complete daily tasks under supervision to ensure quality production.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain manufacturing and packaging equipment to meet production standards while following GMPs and SOPs.
Complete line clearance, cleaning and inspection with required documentation.
Setup and adjust equipment using appropriate tools for proper alignment and clearances.
Maintain and transport processing equipment, materials, supplies and products needed for manufacturing and packaging.
Perform and document equipment challenges per current procedures.
Conduct visual inspections during line clearance, in-process checks, repackaging and material reintroduction.
Act as first responder to malfunctions; diagnose issues and reset equipment.
Escalate unresolved line issues per guidelines to ensure efficient operations.
Identify potential production issues and take preventive action.
Assist maintenance with routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs; initiate work orders and fetch parts.
