Wolfspeed in Durham, NC is seeking an Equipment Engineer to drive capital expansion projects and lead continuous improvement within the Global Materials organization. You will own projects from budgeting through installation to production, and track metrics to improve yield, throughput, uptime, and safety.

The position is M-F, 7a-4p. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2 years of manufacturing experience (preferably semiconductor); strong organizational and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience (preferably semiconductor).
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital expansion projects from budgeting to installation to production.
  • Own continuous improvement projects aimed at improving yield, throughput, uptime, and safety.
  • Run multiple projects concurrently with little supervision.
  • Own toolsets and track/improve critical metrics for uptime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, networking, computer, coding, PLC, vacuum, and toxic gas systems.

In this role you will drive continuous improvement in the Global Materials organization through the installation of equipment and design of modifications. You will own multiple projects at one time and be responsible for the management of the projects. You will be responsible for tracking critical metrics and improving those metrics.The person in this role will work a M-F, 7a-4p schedule in support of our 24x7 Materials operations at our Durham, NC headquarters.The Day-to-Day:Manage capital expansion projects from budgeting to installation to production.Own continuous improvement projects aimed at improving yield, throughput, uptime, and safety.Run multiple projects concurrently with little supervision.Own toolsets and be responsible for tracking and improving critical metrics for uptime.Mechanical, electrical, networking, computer, coding, PLC, vacuum, and toxic gas troubleshooting.This Job is Right for You if You Have:Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably semiconductorDemonstrated organizational and communication skillsAbility to work both autonomously as well as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks and projectsMS Office suite proficiencyThis role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.This role requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
