Job summary

Wolfspeed is seeking a Project Management Engineer to support equipment installations, factory layout design, and capacity expansion planning across Wolfspeed's manufacturing sites. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, and milestones.

The role requires a BS in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field and 5+ years in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with strong project management and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree from a four-year college/university in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years prior work experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Overall knowledge of industrial engineering to support capacity planning, resource utilization and lean manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, CAD, and/or statistical analysis software (SQL, Access, JMP, VBA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute equipment installations from need identification through production release, including project plan scope, schedule, milestones, and factory layout design.
• Regularly report progress to management and functional groups to align on needs and issues.
• Lead projects on work force utilization, work center layout, material flows, production costs, and process flow to enable high factory performance.
• Exchange technical information with Wolfspeed groups and stay updated on new developments in the field.
• Support 24/7 manufacturing and participate in production planning.

Here's the Gist:

The primary purpose of the Project Management Engineer at Wolfspeed is to support equipment installations, factory layout design, and capacity expansion planning across Wolfspeed's manufacturing sites.

Day-to-Day:

• Work cross-functionally to plan and execute equipment installations from need identification through production release, including developing the overall project plan: schedule, milestones and tasks, factory layout design, etc.
• Communicate regularly with management and other functional groups within Wolfspeed to report progress and ensure understanding of needs/problems in relation to industrial engineering projects.
• Lead / participate in projects related to work force utilization, work center layout, material flows, production costs, process flow and production requirements to enable high factory performance.
• Interact with other technical groups throughout Wolfspeed and elsewhere to exchange technical information and remain abreast of new developments in the field.
• Support of 24/7 manufacturing and participate in production planning.

Minimum Requirements:

• BS degree from a four-year college/university in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years prior work experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Overall knowledge of industrial engineering to support capacity planning, resource utilization and lean manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in the use of computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, CAD, and/or statistical analysis software (SQL, Access, JMP, VBA, etc.).

This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management. This role requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.

Highly Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• MS degree applicable to the Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering field.
• 5+ years' experience managing projects over $5 million.
• 5+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering field.
• Project Management certification(s).
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet).
