Job summary

Sub-Zero Group, Inc. in Madison, WI seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for 2nd shift (M-F, 2PM–10PM). You will troubleshoot equipment, program corrections for sheet metal and plastics fabrication equipment, and support new product introductions while ensuring safety and downtime management.

The role requires a high school diploma and 5+ years in fabrication, with preferred associates in industrial engineering tech. Candidates must work well in teams and be strong problem solvers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 5+ years in fabrication.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams; strong problem solving.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and sheet metal equipment.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment and perform root-cause analysis with corrective actions.
  • Program corrections for sheet metal and plastics fabrication equipment.
  • Assist with new product introductions through program development.
  • Manage downtime, preventive maintenance, and improvements.
  • Train operators and maintain safety across manufacturing practices.

Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated individual to work as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician on 2nd Shift. The hours for this position are M-F 2PM – 10PM.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot equipment and perform root cause analysis / Corrective Actions
  • Program corrections for various sheet metal and plastics fabrication equipment
  • Assist with new product introductions through program development and optimization
  • Assume equipment responsibility for downtime, preventative maintenance and improvements
  • Key team member in operator training sessions
  • Ensure safety throughout manufacturing practices, procedures and equipment
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a fabrication role
  • Able to work independently and within teams
  • Able to learn on the fly and be an excellent problem solver
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with the operation of and programming of sheet metal equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in industrial engineering technology or related
  • Experience reading electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
  • Experience with Amada, Cincinnati, Fanuc Robotics, Allen Bradley Controls
