Job summary

Atomic Machines is seeking a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to drive operational excellence as we scale high-volume digital manufacturing. You will design, build, and integrate automation systems and own equipment performance across Emeryville and Santa Clara.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure production readiness and implement robust maintenance programs, while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering required or equivalent.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Experience with automated manufacturing systems and equipment design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and integration of automation and production systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to validate performance and testing.
• Manage contract manufacturers' builds through integration and test for production.
• Own equipment reliability, uptime, and maintenance strategies.
• Lead manufacturing process development from EVT through production ramp.
• Translate engineering BOMs to manufacturing BOMs and define build processes.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive throughput, yield, and cost improvements.
• Perform RCCA, time studies, and risk assessments to prevent issues.
