Field AI, based in Irvine, CA, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to own and optimize assembly processes for robotic systems and subassemblies. You will collaborate across Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems teams to ensure manufacturability, testability, and scalable production.

The role emphasizes DFA/DFM, process development, and production support with a data‑driven approach. Onsite work and a strong focus on quality and yield are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with complex hardware.
• Strong experience with DFM, DFA, process development, and production support.
• Experience developing assembly processes for electromechanical systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, root cause analysis, and process control.
• Experience creating manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process validation plans.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Own development and improvement of assembly processes for robotic systems and subassemblies.
• Create manufacturing work instructions, procedures, and build documentation.
• Design workflows to optimize throughput, quality, ergonomics, and repeatability.
• Lead manufacturing readiness for prototype, pilot, and production builds.
• Support contract manufacturers and internal teams with process development and troubleshooting.
• Define manufacturing quality requirements and inspection strategies.
• Develop test strategies and automation where appropriate.
