Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead teams across engine programs, oversee fabrication processes, and drive performance improvements. You will mentor staff, set goals, and ensure safe, repeatable production and assembly.

You will guide insourcing of new processes, apply DFMA/PFMEA studies, and coordinate with program managers to meet design, build, and test objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (MS preferred).
• Experience managing people, projects, or programs.
• Proven track record of developing new manufacturing processes and improving existing ones.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management.
• 7+ years of direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience.
• Ability to operate, lead, and progress in ambiguous environments.
• Proficiency in mechanical design and manufacturing fundamentals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Enable the success of a team comprised of high-impact Manufacturing Engineers.
• Provide mentoring, guidance, and support.
• Develop goals, career paths, and professional development for direct reports.
• Establish roles, responsibilities, and accountability for all team members.
• Balance workflow and priorities across multiple engine programs.
• Grow the team by recruiting and hiring top performing manufacturing engineers as needed.
• Coordinate with program managers and operations leaders to meet design, build, and test objectives.
• Support robust engineering fundamentals and processes in fabrication.
• Ensure compliance with company processes and media.
• Prepare hardware for test, qualification, and flight.
• Promote DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen feedback loops between design, build, and test.
