Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of engineers and apply manufacturing principles to bring innovative vehicles to life. You will guide design for manufacturability, analyze KPIs, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic, global manufacturing environment with a focus on cost-efficient production.

This role requires Lean expertise, leadership, and the ability to collaborate with Product Development, Materials Planning & Logistics, and

Qualifications

  • B.S. Engineering-Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience or similar related technical field; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
  • 8-10 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept to manufacturing launches
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams
  • Understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies
  • Ability to implement manufacturing strategies, contributing to long-term organizational goals
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement strategic corrective actions
  • Proficiency in leveraging Virtual Manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Team Center, Vis mockup) for advanced analysis and process optimization
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Failure Mode Avoidance principles and supporting quality improvement initiatives
  • Ability to travel to support future program launch

Responsibilities

  • Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) by integrating manufacturing requirements into vehicle development
  • Oversee the analysis of Manufacturing KPIs and lead corrective actions
  • Guide identification of potential process risks and implement preventive measures
  • Support technology adoption and advanced manufacturing methods
  • Lead cross-functional alignment with Product Development, Materials Planning & Logistics, and Assembly Plant
  • Oversee program financial targets for Facility, Tooling and Labor
  • Foster Continuous Improvement by evaluating lessons learned from new model launches
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a team of manufacturing engineers
