Job summary

Ford Dearborn is seeking a Process Control Team Engineer in Manufacturing Engineering. You will drive process control strategy and plant implementations across NA plants, updating PFMEAs, controlling plans, and developing real-time dashboards to monitor progress.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, supplier management, and on-site execution. You’ll work within Global Manufacturing Engineering, applying APQP principles and PFMEA/DFMEA knowledge while leading interim and permanent

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or related).
• 3+ years in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or Product Development.
• Knowledge of APQP, Control Plans, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Significant/Critical Characteristics.
• Experience bridging vehicle design with plant feasibility.
• Willingness to travel for North American installations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Significant and Critical Characteristics cascaded by Product Development to improve control plans.
• Develop and propose engineering recommendations to enable enhanced control methods.
• Update PFMEAs and Control Plans to align with quality documents.
• Collaborate with PD, Quality, and plant teams to align on control methods and DRIs.
• Execute interim vs. permanent control strategies and secure exceptions where needed.
• Support auditing and updating PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Sheets.
• Prepare executive-level risk reduction and project status reports.
• Develop real-time dashboards (Power BI, QlikSense) for multiple facilities.
• Work with suppliers to create SOWs for new process control tooling.
• Obtain supplier quotes and coordinate funding for tooling upgrades.
• Provide on-site support for rapid containment and permanent controls.
• Oversee installation of new equipment and vision systems.
• Coordinate with IE teams on labor estimates and operation updates.
• Develop validation criteria with IT and plant teams.
• Assist maintenance with long-term sustainment plans.
