Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the manufacturing engineering function for Unmanned Air Vehicle production. You will provide strategic and hands-on leadership for developing, qualifying, and continuously improving manufacturing systems, processes, tooling, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in Manufacturing/Engineering with leadership experience.
• 3+ years leading/managing manufacturing engineering teams.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the manufacturing engineering team; set priorities and manage performance.
• Establish strategies, standards, and objectives for manufacturing groups.
• Improve manufacturing systems, processes, and facility capabilities for UAV production.
• Develop capacity models and capital equipment plans for new and existing products.
• Direct the development and support of assembly and test equipment.
