DwyerOmega invites a motivated engineering student to join our team for a hands-on summer internship, focusing on product design, testing, validation, and continuous improvement. You’ll update work instructions to a new format and support Kaizen events to enhance processes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, development of testing tools, and exposure to PLC/HMI programming and robotics. This is a full-time, on-site summer placement at our Michigan City/South Bend locations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year or four-year college/university program (engineering preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to design and build test and calibration equipment.
• Improve productivity through ergonomic evaluations, time studies, simulations, and line balancing.
• Conduct cost analysis to support manufacturing decisions.
• Create and maintain process documentation, including drawings and work instructions.
• Optimize manufacturing processes and assembly flow.
• Support quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with PLC, HMI, and robotic programming where applicable.
