Job summary

DwyerOmega in Michigan City, IN is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern who will work closely with our design and test teams on sustaining and new product efforts. This full-time summer internship provides hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

You will gain exposure to CAD, drawings, testing, and cross-functional collaboration, mentored by experienced engineers, with opportunities to contribute to real-world projects and develop practical skills for your career.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks and Altium) and Microsoft Office is a plus.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Sustain Existing Products: Assist in maintaining and improving current products by troubleshooting issues, testing alternative designs and implementing enhancements.
• Test and Validate Product Designs: Perform various electrical and environmental tests to validate design concepts and verify product performance and reliability.
• New Product Design Collaboration: Participate in brainstorming sessions and collaborate with the design team to develop new products, providing valuable input and feedback.
