Job summary

DwyerOmega is seeking a motivated engineering student for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern position in Michigan City, IN or South Bend, IN. The role focuses on product design, testing, validation, and documenting continuous improvement while updating work instructions for a new format and supporting Kaizen events.

Responsibilities include designing and building test/calibration equipment, time studies, cost analysis, and documentation creation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year or four-year college or university program.
• A major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to design and build test and calibration equipment for new and existing products.
• Improve productivity through ergonomic evaluations, time studies, simulations, and line balancing.
• Conduct cost analysis to support manufacturing decisions.
• Create and maintain process documentation, including mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, and work instructions.
• Optimize manufacturing processes and assembly flow.
• Support quality control initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist with PLC, HMI, and robotic programming (as applicable).
