Steelcase Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support operations at our Grand Rapids facilities.

You will work on process improvements, automation, and cost-reduction initiatives, gaining hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, equipment, and cross-functional teams. You will develop practical problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment, while contributing to projects that improve efficiency, quality, and the employee experience on the production floor.

Qualifikationen

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be graduating Winter 2028 or Spring 2029.
• Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and collaborate across functions.
• Vehicle transportation required.

Aufgaben

• Conduct time studies and analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Support automation and robotics initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, manufacturing engineering, design engineering, and product development teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Assist with equipment evaluations, purchases, implementation activities, and continuous improvement projects.
• Create and modify engineering documentation, layouts, and designs using CAD tools and other technical software.
• Leverage data, reports, and manufacturing metrics to identify root causes and recommend process improvements.
• Apply engineering principles to solve real-world manufacturing problems in a fast-paced production environment.
