Job summary

Steelcase is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to lead and support through the manufacturing life cycle at our Grand Rapids facility. You will drive new product introductions, improve productivity, and provide ongoing process support on the factory floor.

You will serve as a technical expert in process technology, tackle root cause analyses, and work with ERP systems (SAP and Windchill). The role requires a hands-on approach and flexibility in hours.

Qualifications

• 4 year technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering fields.
• 2+ years of hands on manufacturing experience.
• Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with ERP systems SAP and Windchill.
• Experience in Statistical Risk Analysis.
• Must be hands-on on the production floor.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours.
• Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction of new products into the facility.
• Improve productivity and profitability of existing production procedures.
• Provide ongoing support through the manufacturing life cycle.
• Acts as a technical expert in process technology.
• Identify improvements, track expenditures and ensure budget adherence.
• Provide timely product and process support for manufacturing areas to minimize interruptions.
• Lead the implementation of significant product, process, cost reduction or other corporate change initiatives.
• Provide advanced research to introduce/integrate new processes, equipment, and technologies into the company.
