Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Sr Staff to lead R&R reduction on the F-35 PE SCA team. The role reports to Senior Leadership and partners with Quality Engineering and Production Operations to drive product improvements across multiple build areas.
You will supervise project charters, apply Lean Six Sigma, and manage actions from initiation through closure while tracking key metrics to raise quality and reduce variation.
This is a Manufacturing Engineer Sr Staff position on the Production Engineering (PE) F-35 Strategic Corrective Action (SCA) team in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role dynamic role you will serve in a Technical Lead capacity, primarily supporting the Rework and Repair (R&R) Council, as well as other potential special assignments and Technical Lead duties as required. This high visibility role will allow you to work cross-functionally to develop and execute on the strategy to support the R&R reduction efforts across F-35 Production Operations. This role is essential to shaping the future of F-35 R&R strategy and must be comfortable periodically reporting to Senior Leadership including Director and VP level leaders.
You will lead various project charters and support the cross functional teams as needed in their efforts to reduce R&R across the program. This will include investigations of manufacturing processes across multiple build areas as well as at a program level, applying LeanSixSigma tools to uncover root causes, close process gaps, developing corrective action plans, and weekly coordination with Production Operations counterparts. You will work closely with Quality Engineering and Production Operations, coordinate cross functional teams, promote creative problem solving, and drive product improvement initiatives. Throughout each corrective action effort you will project manage the work from initiation through verification and closure, while tracking key metrics to reduce variation and elevate overall product quality.

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00
