Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a 3rd shift role focused on advancing automated and lean manufacturing processes. You will apply 3D design tools, analyze layouts, and drive improvements in scrap reduction and process efficiency.

The position requires CATIA V5 experience, blueprints familiarity, and a background in aeronautics or missiles. Candidates should have a manufacturing engineering background and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • CATIA V5 or similar 3D design software experience.
  • Experience reading engineering blueprints or tool designs.
  • Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in aeronautics or missiles and fire control.
  • BS/MS in Manufacturing Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience (or 3+ w/MS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor support to solve immediate production constraints.
  • Develop corrective actions to reduce Scrap Rework and Repair (SRR) cost and hours per unit (HPU).
  • Update the manufacturing plan.
  • Perform manufacturing evaluations of engineering changes.
  • Perform QAR corrective action.
  • Create cost reduction initiatives.
  • Other Manufacturing Engineering standard work (Tool Trial Runs, Work Around Plans, etc.).

Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of aircraft structures and/or systems installation (hydraulics / harness) procedures and requirements.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
