Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (C-Shift, Fri–Sun 5:00AM–3:30PM) in Huntsville, AL, to translate engineering intent into scalable hardware and support assembly and integration on the manufacturing floor.

You will develop work instructions, run DFMA initiatives, perform FMEA studies, and ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards while collaborating with design, test, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• Able to work first shift with flexibility to move shifts and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware.
• Support the manufacturing floor in assembly and integration, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements, discrepancy resolution, and component acceptance testing.
• Perform in a hands-on engineering role and liaise between design, test, manufacturing, and operations.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions covering receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and refurbishment.
• Dispositions root causes of discrepancies and implements corrective actions.
• Create in-build redlines and recommend engineering changes to improve design.
• Review engineering drawings and provide final approval for manufacturing.
• Conduct FMEA studies to strengthen feedback loops between design, build, and test.
• Drive DFMA across product life cycle and pursue continuous improvements.
• Ensure work aligns with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.
