Job description

Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will serve as the primary process owner for the Rotor Machining (RM1/RM2) lean lines. You will bridge the gap between industrialization and full-scale production to ensure a smooth transition, before owning daily line support during production. This role is a dual-focus position: you will provide immediate technical troubleshooting (Type 1 & 2 issues) to maintain flow, while simultaneously driving long-term continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, cost-out, and safety.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize line processes for RM1 and RM2 post-handover.

  • Serve as the first line of engineering support for production, troubleshooting technical and process-related bottlenecks.

  • Proactively identify and execute projects to increase OEE, reduce cycle times, and optimize cost.

  • Utilize Lean methodologies to drive visual management and improvements in-line with our Life Saving Rules.

  • Act as a technical mentor for production teams.

  • Support the onboarding and training of machinists on new processes and equipment.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Industrialization to execute on line-level CAPEX, OPEX, and T&S (Tools & Supplies) budgets.

  • Partner with outside vendors and tooling suppliers to drive technical improvements and achieve cost targets.

  • Champion a \"Safety First\" culture; ensure all process changes and improvements are improving our Life Saving Rules target conditions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work 1st Shift (7:30am-4:30pm)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial preferred) from an accredited University or College; OR a High School Diploma/GED with at least 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality, lean, or equivalent roles

Desired Characteristics

  • Direct experience with CNC machining, specifically related to heavy rotating equipment or gas turbine components

  • Proven track record of using data (OEE, SPC, Pareto analysis) to drive root cause corrective actions

  • Ability to navigate cross-functional environments and influence stakeholders without direct reporting authority

  • Experience working in a fast-paced complex environment
