Job description

Job Description Summary As a key member of the Richmond Service Center Leadership Team, the Manufacturing Repair Fulfillment Manager is responsible for the heartbeat of our shop operations. You will lead the team of internal project managers (order managers) and scheduler and own the master production schedule, material flow, and throughput metrics. By translating high-level demand into actionable, transparent shop floor schedules, you ensure the site meets its delivery commitments while optimizing capacity utilization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling Ownership: Own, maintain, and upgrade the shop floor scheduling process. Your team is the architect of the schedule, ensuring it is realistic, attainable, and aligned with site SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) goals. The operations team will execute against this plan.
  • Operational Transparency: Provide clear, real-time visibility of the production schedule to the shop floor. Ensure every team member knows their priority and how it contributes to the overall fulfillment plan.
  • Throughput & Flow: Continually improve communication, planning, and material/task flow through the shop.
  • Capacity Alignment: Partner with the optimization team to balance workload against current shop capacity, preventing over-commitment while ensuring cost liquidation.
  • Lead long term fulfillment planning for the Richmond shop.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement robust solutions to maintain smooth operations.
  • Site Leadership Collaboration: Serve as a core member of the site leadership team, providing data-backed insights that influence broader site strategies and delivery commitments.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and report on schedule attainment, cycle time, and past-due backlogs, leading the "Delivery" portion of daily management meetings. Support financial reporting and project cost analysis.
  • Functional Leadership: Lead the team responsible for Shipping and Receiving, Order Management, and Shop Scheduling.

Innovate & Transform: Seek out new tools and processes to digitize or simplify scheduling, constantly pushing for more efficient throughput.

Basic Qualifications
  • Degree from an accredited college or university with preferred studies in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management or similar degree
  • 2+ years of experience in a high-complexity manufacturing or repair fulfillment role
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • Experience improving shop floor performance and schedule adherence
  • Must be 100% onsite at the GE Vernova Richmond, VA Repair Center, with occasional business travel.
Desired Characteristics (Skills & Experience)
  • Project Management and Project Scheduling Systems: Demonstrated experience managing projects with high impact and visibility, and tight deadlines.
  • Mastery of advanced project scheduling and resource management systems (e.g., SAP/Powermax, Microsoft Project or Primavera).
  • Product Knowledge: Demonstrated comfort with the GE Vernova product range, specifically understanding the technical requirements and typical repair cycles of generator and turbine offerings.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong aptitude for data analysis to predict and manage capacity gaps before they impact the customer.
  • Influence: Ability to influence commercial and optimization colleagues to support Richmond shop interests.
  • Ability to influence colleagues and shop floor without direct line authority over all team members.
  • Customer Perspective: Experience with customer-facing roles.
  • Operational Discipline: Experience adhering to a daily management system, and using systems to manage change in a dynamic and uncertain environment.
