Job summary

Palmer Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement welding fixtures, assembly aids, and new tooling to boost production efficiency. You will troubleshoot across welding, hydraulic, and assembly systems, working with vendors and internal teams to deploy equipment.

You will analyze defects, develop process controls, and ensure quality standards while supporting product launches and field investigations for continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or a related industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with welding, powder coating, and final assembly processes.
• Familiarity with CNC machines, CMM inspection tools, or advanced manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement weld fixtures, assembly jigs, and manufacturing aids to improve production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot welding, hydraulic, and assembly issues by analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to source and deploy new tooling and equipment.
• Investigate manufacturing defects and warranty claims, coordinating with cross-functional teams for resolution.
• Develop and maintain process controls, inspection plans, and quality standards to ensure product consistency.
• Conduct field investigations at customer sites to evaluate product failures and recommend improvements.
• Support process optimization initiatives for welding, powder coating, and final assembly lines.
• Assist in product launches by ensuring manufacturability and tolerances align with design specifications.
