Job summary

ThyssenKrupp Materials NA, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in the United States to develop and optimize manufacturing processes, improve safety and quality, and drive cost efficiency.

The role covers programming and supporting PLC-controlled equipment, CNC machines, and automation systems while coordinating new product launches. You will lead process improvement projects, train operators, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering or process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, tooling, and production equipment.
• Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, CNC machinery, automation, or related manufacturing technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Preferred: Experience with CAD software and Microsoft Office; project management; Lean/Six Sigma knowledge; training operators.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Program, troubleshoot, and support manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
• Coordinate the launch of new products and process changes, ensuring successful implementation into production.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
• Assist in developing training programs and apprenticeship initiatives for new and developing employees.
• Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Support production control systems, SOPs, quality programs, and safety initiatives.
• May require temporary shift rotation during onboarding and training period.
