Job summary

thyssenkrupp rothe erde is seeking a skilled engineer to provide technical support for plant production. You will create and revise prints and routers while balancing quality, productivity, safety and cost.

You will generate process drawings, troubleshoot shop-floor issues, estimate costs and optimize manufacturing methods. Ideal candidates hold a related engineering degree with 3-5 years of experience in metal production; CAD, SAP and Excel proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or similar engineering discipline preferred.
• 3-5 years of related experience in a metal work production environment.
• Machining and tooling knowledge in turning, drilling, threading, ceramic turning, machining, and gear manufacturing.
• Proven understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of cost calculation and continuous improvement measurements.
• Computer skills: 2-D & 3-D CAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to learn SAP.

Responsibilities

• Generate process drawings, routers and machining standards.
• Solve manufacturing issues on the shop floor.
• Investigate and adjust incorrect machining standards.
• Estimate manufacturing and product costs.
• Review customer order information and recommend changes in specifications.
• Identify proper machine tools to manufacture products.
• Design fixtures and oversee requisitions for fixtures.
• Update routers/process drawings to current methods.
• Identify and implement cost reduction projects.
• Liaise between management and hourly employees and between plant and corporate personnel.
• Assist production control in resolving scheduling problems and provide information to other departments.
• Review daily MCR database for requested changes.
• Generate and maintain work instructions for various processes.
• Support ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001 certifications and safety initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
