Job summary

Rocket EMS in Carson City, NV is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead PCB assembly manufacturing efforts, focusing on DFM, DFA, NPI, and manufacturing planning to deliver reliable, scalable production.

You will collaborate with Process Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, and Program Management to translate product requirements into validated manufacturing plans and to resolve cross-functional issues across the line.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a manufacturing/engineering field or equivalent electronics manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading DFM, DFA, NPI and manufacturing planning.
• 3+ years in PCBA/electronics manufacturing.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 requirements.
• Experience with manufacturing documentation, engineering changes, and routings.

Responsibilities

• Lead DFM and DFA reviews for new and revised products.
• Evaluate spacing, land patterns, thermal characteristics, tooling access, soldering visibility.
• Review customer manufacturing packages and resolve requirements.
• Coordinate manufacturability recommendations with customer engineering and PM.
• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for NPI, including feasibility assessments and pilot builds.
• Define and maintain the overall manufacturing sequence, routings, tooling, and documentation.
• Coordinate complete manufacturing packages before production release.
• Assess ECOs and substitutions for impact.
• Establish product-level tooling and fixture requirements; coordinate with Process Engineering and suppliers.
• Partner with Test Engineering on design for testability and fixture integration.
• Lead resolution of complex manufacturing issues across processes.
• Develop capacity assessments and improvement plans.
• Support quoting with feasibility input.
