Job summary

Axion Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for a metal processing and fabrication operation in Camden, SC. The role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, supporting production operations and driving continuous improvement across powder coating, assembly and metal fabrication.

The engineer will interpret drawings, GD&T and specs, maintain routings/BOMs, assist production planning via MRP/MRPII, and contribute to FMEA and root-cause analysis while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience within a manufacturing engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with MRP/MRPII systems.
• Knowledge of powder coating, sheet metal or metal fabrication manufacturing.
• Experience with FMEA and continuous improvement methodologies.
• CAD software experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SPC, welding processes or cost analysis is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling and production workflows.
• Support powder coating, assembly and metal fabrication operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical specifications.
• Create and maintain routings, bills of materials and manufacturing documentation.
• Support production planning using MRP/MRPII systems.
• Participate in FMEA and manufacturing risk assessments.
• Design tools and fixtures for welded component assembly.
• Investigate production issues and support root cause analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams.
