The role involves CAD/CAM proficiency, CNC programming for various machines, and collaboration with operators, machinists, and supervisors to drive productivity and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Five years of CNC programming experience in a machining environment.
- Broad understanding of turning and machining technologies.
- Proficiency with CAD (solid modeling) and CAM software.
- Proficient with GD&T.
- Experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD and Esprit Cam is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs for CNC lathes and various machining centers.
- Use Esprit Cam or similar CAM systems (Mastercam, SurfCam).
- Establish machining methods and tool sequences.
- Conduct cycle time studies and share recommendations with leaders.
- Assist in evaluating manufacturing processes and ERP usage.
- Support setup teams with tooling and fixturing issues.
- Analyze and solve process and tool problems to boost productivity.
- Update manufacturing standards, prints, BOMs, and routings.
- Support plant safety and capital equipment purchases.
