AKG North American Operations in North Carolina is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve processes for building aluminum heat exchangers and steel assemblies. This role blends shop-floor involvement with tooling design and continuous improvement, capital equipment upgrades, and automation projects.

You'll work closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams to implement standard work, diagnose issues, and drive lean initiatives such as PFMEA and DFM.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or electro-mechanical engineering (or related field).
• 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with tooling, fixtures, or fabrication processes.
• Exposure to capital equipment support or automation projects.
• Experience using 3D CAD software (SolidEdge preferred) and understanding of GD&T.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Support day-to-day fabrication and assembly processes including brazing, welding, and machining.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement process improvements.
• Design and optimize tooling, fixtures, and electromechanical systems.
• Support automation and capital equipment projects from concept to implementation.
• Create and update standard work instructions, process docs, and quality checks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, supply chain, and engineering).
• Participate in DFM/A, PFMEA, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Assist in new product introduction and early production ramp-up.
• Provide informal technical guidance to operators and technicians.
• Assist with data collection, KPI tracking, and reporting using Excel or Power BI.
