Job summary

SolarEdge Technologies Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Mechanical/Industrial Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and sustainment of production systems.

The role focuses on improving capacity, labor efficiency, quality, cost, and equipment utilization across manufacturing operations. The engineer collaborates with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Automation, Test, Product/Process Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain to drive continuous improvement, tooling deployment, and efficient layouts

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
• 6+ years of professional engineering experience in high-volume electronics manufacturing or similar.
• Experience in process optimization, capacity analysis, line balancing, and layout.
• Hands-on tooling/fixture design and development experience.
• Proficiency with Lean, Six Sigma, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to analyze production data and translate findings into practical solutions.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze workflows, equipment, labor utilization, cycle time, and bottlenecks to improve throughput and stability.
• Perform capacity analysis and recommend staffing and workstation configurations.
• Design and improve jigs, fixtures, tools, and workstations for assembly and manufacturing.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for defects.
• Develop efficient production layouts and material flow to enhance capacity and ergonomics.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and cost.
• Support quality, process capability, risk assessments, and documentation.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities in labor, tooling, and layout.
• Lead cross-functional projects for upgrades, automation, and new product introductions.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and KPIs for management review.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members.
