Job summary

SANY America is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Peachtree City, GA operations team. You will develop, document, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for machines and attachments, providing hands‑on engineering support to production and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a BS in a related field plus 3+ years in manufacturing settings, strong problem‑solving and data analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with Product Engineering,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Three or more years of manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or production-process experience.
  • Experience supporting assembly, fabrication, heavy equipment, automotive, industrial machinery, or a comparable manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing work instructions, manufacturing processes, production layouts, tooling, and standardized work.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of materials, and process documentation.
  • Experience using data to evaluate production performance and support operational decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other business applications.
  • Experience with CAD software and ERP, MRP, or manufacturing systems.
  • Strong project‑management, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, technical teams, suppliers, and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing and assembly processes for machines, attachments, and related products.
  • Provide hands‑on engineering support to production teams by troubleshooting process, equipment, tooling, material, and assembly issues.
  • Evaluate existing production processes and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, ergonomics, cost, and workflow.
  • Create and maintain standardized work instructions, process documentation, visual aids, assembly sequences, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, line‑balancing reviews, and labor‑efficiency evaluations.
  • Design or specify manufacturing fixtures, tools, workstations, lifting devices, and other equipment needed to support production.
  • Develop efficient plant layouts and material‑flow solutions that reduce unnecessary movement, handling, delays, and production constraints.
  • Support the introduction of new products, models, attachments, and engineering changes into production.
  • Coordinate production‑readiness activities, including tooling, documentation, training, process validation, material availability, and pilot builds.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and change notices to determine their impact on manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with Product Engineering and other technical teams to ensure products are manufacturable, serviceable, and supported by effective production processes.
  • Lead or participate in root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action activities related to production defects, rework, equipment downtime, and process failures.
  • Use structured problem‑solving methods such as 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, Pareto analysis, PFMEA, and corrective and preventive action.
  • Support Quality in developing process controls, inspection requirements, control plans, and mistake‑proofing solutions.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean manufacturing principles, including 6S, Kaizen, waste reduction, standard work, and value‑stream improvement.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and operational metrics to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and measure project results.
  • Prepare cost‑benefit analyses and business cases for capital equipment, tooling, facility changes, automation, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate the installation, qualification, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Work with Facilities to improve equipment reliability, preventive maintenance requirements, and operational uptime.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Materials teams to address component availability, packaging, storage, kitting, and point‑of‑use delivery concerns.
  • Develop and deliver training for production employees and supervisors on new processes, equipment, tooling, and standardized work.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support plant safety initiatives and incorporate ergonomic and risk‑reduction considerations into process and equipment design.
  • Communicate project status, operational risks, performance results, and recommended corrective actions to Operations leadership.
  • Perform other duties and improvement projects assigned.
