Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Bluebird Turf in Auburn Hills, MI. The role focuses on leading continuous improvement, drafting plant layouts, and providing design support for manufacturing processes at our Auburn Hills location. You will collaborate with Project Engineering and cross-functional teams on NPI, develop standard work, and drive waste elimination using lean tools in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• Experience with Six Sigma DMAIC and process optimization.
• Ability to design and analyze manufacturing layouts and processes.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and implement solutions on the floor.
• Draft and design plant layouts in AutoCAD showing equipment, materials, and workspace to support lean flow.
• Provide concept designs, prototypes, and pre-production samples for NPI and DFМ opportunities.
• Participate in APQP meetings with Project Engineering and cross-functional teams for major NPI projects.
• Provide hands-on Manufacturing Engineering support during rollout of new projects.
• Collaborate on design changes and assist customers with DFM opportunities.
• Lead recurring continuous improvement project meetings and present ROI for capital expenditures.
• Manage large-capital projects and create standard work for processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
