Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, MI is seeking an Entry Level Manufacturing Engineer focused on Continuous Improvement to support shopfloor initiatives.

You will assist in planning, implementing, and following through improvement activities with Lean tools to boost throughput and quality. You will collaborate with operations leaders, technicians, and engineers, on projects aimed at waste reduction, on-time delivery, safety, and cost reductions, while developing practical problem-solving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; high energy and initiative.
• Willingness to spend time on the shopfloor to learn and interact with employees.
• Exhibit teamwork and a proactive, go-getter attitude.
• Strong analytical and statistical problem-solving skills.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Continuous Improvement Organization across units and plants.
• Plan, implement, and follow through manufacturing improvement initiatives.
• Help reduce scrap, improve on-time delivery, productivity, quality, and safety.
• Coordinate with operations supervisors and plant managers; no direct supervision.
• Participate in Kaizen events and Lean initiatives to sustain improvements.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to drive waste reduction and efficiency.
