Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an onsite role in Asheville, NC (Arden area). You will support manufacturing operations, maintain equipment, and lead improvement projects within the Operational Excellence team.

Responsibilities include training operators, implementing layout changes, and driving labor productivity with value-stream improvements. Strong lean/Six Sigma background and experience with SAP/AS400/AutoCAD are preferred, with a focus on Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• No relocation benefit; only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Asheville NC will be considered. Immigration sponsorship is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication and assembly processes, tooling and fixturing design and applications.
• Develop and implement improvements to manufacturing and its procedures and processes through improved layout and material handling procedures.
• Train factory operators in the use of equipment, tooling and procedures.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee changes and upgrades to the manufacturing facility.
• Lead events such as Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events to achieve factory cost-out targets.
• Conduct a line capacity analysis and lead labor productivity improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives.
• Specify, design, quote, install, debug, and maintain equipment for use in manufacturing.
• Support digitization initiatives with MES implementation on shop floor and Industry 4.0, and automation.
• Support other key plant processes and provide cross-functional support as directed.
• Design processes utilizing PFMEA, document controls, method sheets, standard operating procedures, etc.
