Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems in York, PA seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve machine shop operations, driving lean improvements and tooling development. You will lead projects, coordinate with Quality, Supply Chain, and Safety, and implement process controls for efficient manufacturing.

The role requires hands-on engineering experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent with hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Proven track record in lean initiatives (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Experience leading capital equipment projects and tooling development.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes, tooling, and production controls.
  • Provide hands-on support to resolve day-to-day production issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement to reduce scrap and improve uptime.
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities and manage capital equipment planning.
  • Plan facility changes and coordinate cross-functional support across departments.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions for key processes.
