Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3–5 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Or 7–10 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong background in machining operations including manual and CNC equipment.
  • Proven Lean manufacturing experience (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Experience developing and maintaining standard work instructions and production controls.
  • Ability to identify cost-reduction opportunities and improve efficiency.
  • Experience managing capital equipment projects and facility layout changes.
  • Familiarity with evaluating manufacturability and supplier/vendor assessments.
  • Ability to support supplier startups and align with quality and delivery requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general internet/email skills.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or Creo.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes, tooling, and production controls for existing products.
  • Provide hands‑on support to resolve day‑to‑day manufacturing issues and ensure stable production.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, uptime, and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost‑reduction opportunities within existing operations.
  • Manage capital equipment planning, justification, and procurement for production needs.
  • Plan and implement facility changes to support forecasted production volumes.
  • Provide technical support across Materials, Quality, Engineering, and Safety.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Six Sigma, and other CI methods.
  • Lead and support 5S activities throughout the facility.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions for critical processes.
  • Coordinate and support drawing changes implementation.
  • Procure tooling, fixtures, and equipment for production support.
  • Evaluate specifications and cost estimates for manufacturability and investment needs.
  • Conduct supplier and vendor technical assessments.
  • Assist suppliers and vendors in production startups.
