Job summary

Champion Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. You will determine machines, equipment, tooling, and operation sequences, and advise vendors on tooling and equipment for manufacturing.

The role emphasizes ownership of process improvement within the business unit, meeting productivity targets, and collaborating with Quality, Product, and Manufacturing Operations to support safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years related experience, preferably in Aerospace or Automotive environment.
• Experience with metal-joining processes (Tig, resistance welding, brazing) preferred.
• SolidWorks (preferred).
• Experience with robot/cobot automation.
• Capital Project Management ($2,500 - $1.5M).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Problem Solving: address day-to-day process, product, equipment and documentation issues; investigate Corrective Action Requests and drive root cause analysis.
• Productivity Improvements: identify opportunities to improve scrap, downtime and overall effectiveness using Lean techniques.
• Capital Projects: scope, manage and implement investment projects to improve productivity.
• Process and Tooling Design: design and maintain manufacturing processes and equipment; write SOPs and estimate times/costs for tools.
• Technical Communication: prepare and process documentation and engineering changes (ECR).
• Cross-Functional Teamwork: participate in new product design reviews and assist with audits and product investigations.
