Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop, implement, and optimize aerospace manufacturing processes supporting precision components. You will manage BOMs, routings, process docs, and GD&T interpretation, while collaborating across functions to improve cost, quality, and delivery.

The role requires experience in manufacturing/process engineering, familiarity with ERP/MRP, and a strong drive for continuous improvement within a fully onsite Manchester, CT environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing engineering or process engineering activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of machining processes, manufacturing flow, routing development, and production sequencing.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process documentation, and GD&T requirements.
• Experience creating and maintaining BOMs, routings, manufacturing instructions, and process documentation.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems used for manufacturing planning, routing management, inventory control, and production support.
• Experience supporting manufacturing troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, program management, and customer-facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies.
• Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, manufacturing instructions, and process documentation.
• Support production operations through troubleshooting, rework support, repair activities, and manufacturing issue resolution.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Production teams to support customer and operational requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process sheets, and GD&T requirements.
• Support quotation, cost estimating, cycle-time analysis, and manufacturing feasibility activities.
• Coordinate manufacturing activities with external suppliers and processing vendors.
• Identify and implement opportunities for quality improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.
• Develop and maintain standard work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
• Support customer requirements and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and related methodologies.
• Support quality, delivery, operational, and customer satisfaction objectives.
