Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial) required.
• Graduate degree in Engineering or Business preferred.
• Minimum 5 years experience; 7+ preferred.
• Solid technical skills in metal forming, tooling, and assembly line production.
• Strong problem solving ability.
• Experience with quality systems.
• Excellent project organization and leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Familiar with lean practices.
• Experience with NPD processes.

Responsibilities

• Support specified Vollrath manufacturing lines with throughput and quality improvements.
• Establish and maintain documentation for work cell design, equipment specifications, and routings.
• Apply advanced problem solving techniques using statistical methods.
• Design, specify, and supervise installation of equipment and machinery.
• Train maintenance staff and operators on new equipment and product flow.
• Ensure safety measures for equipment and work cells.
• Identify profit-improvement opportunities via automation, flow analysis, and motion economy.
• Develop programs to achieve profit objectives with data-driven solutions.
• Lead large, complex project teams and lean events.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering on tooling and product design for manufacturability.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment and materials purchasing.
