Job summary

HM Electronics Inc is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to provide technical support on the manufacturing floor, develop production tooling, and lead process improvements for the company’s drive-thru and pro-audio products. The role includes cost reporting, fixture design, and support for new product introductions.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, a BS degree, and strong experience with ERP systems, AutoCAD, SMT equipment, and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, Windows and Internet.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
• Advanced drafting knowledge.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes.
• Advanced mechanical skills.
• Ability to think and work independently.
• Experience with SMT equipment.
• Experience in Contract Manufacturing.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of schematic capture software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to the manufacturing floor to ensure optimum production.
• Develops production tools to improve floor efficiencies.
• May train production technicians and other Manufacturing Engineers and technicians.
• Provides costing, status, and other reports as necessary to supervisor.
• Designs fixtures and production tooling; documents fixtures and tooling.
• Recommends fixtures and tooling to help production.
• Represents the department in new product design team meetings.
• Ensures new products are manufacturable, reliable, and cost effective.
• Processes EARs and ECOs; reviews documentation.
• Resolves sustaining engineering issues as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor.
