Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) in Madison, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 2 to support, build, optimize, and sustain production capabilities within the PMI Division.

You will work with management, engineering, prog./project managers and technicians to translate designs into delivered products, driving process stability, tooling development, and clear work instructions. The role requires experience in DFM, Lean, PFMEA, root-cause analysis, and SOLIDWORKS CAD.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5+ years relevant work experience; OR Associate's Degree with 8+ years; OR HS diploma with 10+ years in DoW manufacturing field
• DFM experience and practice
• Identify production cell/plant layout opportunities to streamline assembly operations
• Evaluate manufacturing constraints, capacity and resources across production
• Provide redline support to engineering drawings to resolve discrepancies
• Provide design/manufacturing guidance for job aids, jigs, fixtures, and tooling
• Own and govern Manufacturing BOM and/or Bill of Process throughout product lifecycle
• Develop and implement operational metrics to reduce cost of goods sold (COGS)
• Develop CONOPs defining build sequence and workflow
• Produce production documentation (flow diagrams, work instructions, FMEAs, control plans)
• Experience in process mapping, lean, PFMEA, root cause analysis and structured problem-solving
• Experience using SOLIDWORKS CAD software
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues on the shop floor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to wear PPE and lift up to 50 lbs independently
