Job summary

Sargent Aerospace & Defense is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer MEII to join our Tucson, AZ team. The role focuses on lean initiatives, process documentation, and manufacturability improvements across complex aerospace products.

The candidate will apply GD&T, solid modeling, and root-cause analysis to reduce costs, minimize waste, and enhance efficiency. U.S. citizenship is required and strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience, or master’s degree in engineering or related field with experience, or associate degree with 4 years of experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and ensure blueprint compliance.
  • Proficiency with GD&T, schematics, and inspection equipment.
  • Proficiency in solid modeling and Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Hands-on engineering experience and reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Model safe behavior at all times.
  • Promote a culture of Continual Improvement using Lean Six Sigma to drive quality and efficiency.
  • Support the ME team with technical and general assistance.
  • Interpret and maintain process documentation (routers, RWPs, SOPs, Work Orders).
  • Evaluate and disposition non-conforming product.
  • Provide technical data for front end business activities.
  • Evaluate supplier issues and provide technical guidance.
  • Perform engineering analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify new technologies to improve process capability and controls.
  • Review designs for manufacturability and define manufacturing processes.
  • Design tooling and fixtures and coordinate capital equipment expenditures.
  • Implement process documentation and train production personnel.
  • Participate in engineering change process.
