Job summary

Senior Aerospace SSP in California is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace detail parts and assemblies. You will ensure manufacturability, establish robust work instructions, and drive tooling and process improvements on challenging programs.

This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, adherence to quality standards, and ongoing cost-reduction initiatives, with ITAR/EAR regulatory awareness as a key requirement.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with aerospace experience preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments advantageous.
• Familiarity with sheet metal processes and aerospace materials.

Responsibilities

• Own and oversee technical aspects of assigned projects across compliance, manufacturability, and cost targets.
• Develop and maintain clear work instructions for detail parts and assemblies.
• Apply operation time standards and create Work Combination Sheets (WCS).
• Assist in tooling design and ensure engineering changes are documented and implemented.
• Lead or participate in cost-reduction initiatives and participate in cross-functional teams.
• Support supplier processes and provide technical liaison between manufacturing and engineering.
