Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II in the United States to influence manufacturability from the design stage. You will apply DFM and DFA concepts, tooling design, and process engineering to create efficient, high-quality production systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, repeatable processes and to drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.
• Proficient with CAD software and process documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed work instructions and process documentation.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Design and implement production tooling and fixtures.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to drive improvements.
• Optimize production flow, workstation layout, and material handling.
