Job summary

AAA USA is actively hiring experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support aerospace, defense, transportation, industrial, and advanced manufacturing programs nationwide. This role is based in Sandpoint, ID, and involves direct collaboration with production teams to improve methods, resolve build issues, and optimize processes for manufacturability.

You will lead day-to-day process improvements, perform DFM analyses, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or complex assembly.
• Hands-on understanding of machining, sheet metal, welding, composites, and assembly with depth in at least one area.
• Strong CAD proficiency and ability to read GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with DFM analysis and manufacturing documentation, or ability to develop this capability.
• ERP experience such as Epicor or SAP, including eBOM/mBOM reconciliation and routings.
• Credibility on the shop floor, good judgment, root-cause problem solving, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with mechanics, technicians, and production personnel to identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
• Improve manufacturing methods, processes, ergonomics, work content, and production flow.
• Analyze build sequences and develop practical, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Use CAD models, drawings, and documentation to understand design intent and improve manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings, models, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Ensure changes stay traceable to requirements and maintain fit, form, function, and configuration control.
• Perform DFM analysis and propose design or process improvements to boost production efficiency.
• Develop and present engineering recommendations and design-change proposals to leadership.
• Support reductions in labor hours, costs, rework, scrap, and cycle time.
• Assist with ERP alignment, eBOM/mBOM reconciliation, routings, and production data.
