Job summary

SMC Ltd. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support new projects and provide sustaining engineering for production programs. You will drive improvements in manufacturing methods and procedures, with hands-on time on the production floor.

The role requires strong problem-solving on the shop floor, collaboration with teams, and the ability to travel up to 50% for automation vendor engagements. You will help reduce waste and improve quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
• Excellent communication and ability to train and mentor teams.
• Strong time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
• Enhance methods to reduce cycle times and waste.
• Collect and analyze data to evaluate production efficiency and recommend improvements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical training to production staff on new processes and equipment.
• Document equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure IQ/OQ/PQ protocols are executed and documented.
• Travel up to 50% for vendor support and training; majority on production floor.
