Job summary

IAPMO is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer II to optimize processes, introduce new products, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations in Bend, Oregon. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 2–4 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of process validation, manufacturing optimization, and new product introduction.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, process capability studies, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, tooling, and process integration.
  • Experience using CAD software and manufacturing‑related engineering tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with cross‑functional teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead process improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support new product introductions through process development, validation, and documentation.
  • Develop work instructions, standard operating procedures, tooling requirements, and operator training materials.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, design engineering, and suppliers to resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Support equipment selection, implementation, qualification, and process validation activities.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and standard work procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
