Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee and improve production processes, develop assembly techniques, and promote quality across TAP products. You may work at other Thorlabs locations as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Physics or Engineering, proficiency with SolidWorks, Axapta, and MS Office, plus Lean/Six Sigma experience and at least 1 year in manufacturing. Strong problem solving and use of precision measurement tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Engineering (Optical, Mechanical, Production, etc.) or equivalent.
• Experience with SolidWorks and MS Office products is required.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify problems and provide solutions for manufacturing issues in new and existing products.
• Plan production layouts to facilitate lean manufacturing and Six Sigma standards.
• Collaborate with engineering during design reviews to ensure manufacturability and proper procedures.
