Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee and improve the production process within the TAP unit, develop assembly techniques, and promote quality across production and related departments.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Physics or Engineering and about 1 year of manufacturing experience; Lean/Six Sigma exposure is a plus. ITAR compliance may apply and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Engineering (Optical, Mechanical, Production, etc.), or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing engineering role or similar is desired; Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and improve the production process for the TAP division.
• Develop and teach assembly techniques to improve manufacturability.
• Promote quality throughout production and related departments.
• Create and maintain manufacturing process documents and production routing steps.
• Assist in engineering changes to increase product manufacturability.
