Thorlabs, Newton, NJ, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help oversee and improve division production processes, develop assembly techniques, and drive quality across manufacturing. You will collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure new product releases transfer to production efficiently, and contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, 1 year of related experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant engineering position in electronics/electrical manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience is a plus.
• Experience with quality improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, Process Control, FMEA).

Responsabilités

• Identify problems and provide solutions for manufacturing issues related to new and existing products.
• Plan production layouts to facilitate lean manufacturing.
• Participate in design reviews to identify procedures and potential issues before production release.
• Conduct training with production personnel to improve processes.
• Interface with engineering and operations to ensure smooth transfers of new releases.
