Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is building Terran R and manufacturing capability. You will own forming operations, deliver formed products, and drive improvements from roll forming to press brake processes for the rocket structure.

You will help set up a new press brake work center to form up to 20’ sheets, create instructions and specifications, and standardize processes across the team while collaborating with engineering to enable next‑gen manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years progressive manufacturing experience, including internship experience.
• History of improving manufacturing processes and ability to lead development projects.
• Strong fundamentals in process improvement, forming, metallic processing, mechanics of materials.
• Deep knowledge of metallic manufacturing processes, tools, inspection methods and GD&T.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with engineering and manufacturing groups.
• Strong 3D & 2D design/drafting skills per ASME Y14.5M (NX preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own forming operations within the work center, delivering all formed products and improving roll forming and press brake processes.
• Bring online a press brake work center and lead development to form up to 20’ sheets for primary structure.
• Create work instructions, specifications, and best practices across high-fidelity processes.
• Help standardize processes across the manufacturing team.
• Support shop floor with live issue resolution and upstream feedback for next-gen manufacturing technology.
• Provide DFM feedback to structures teams during development and prototype/flight builds.
