Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking an experienced Manager for Forming Operations in Long Beach, CA. You will own forming processes, bring online a press brake work center, and lead the capability to form up to 20’ sheets for the rocket’s primary structure.

You’ll develop work instructions, establish best practices, and drive process standardization across manufacturing. Strong CAD/3D skills and ASME Y14.5M expertise are required, with a focus on manufacturability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 4+ years progressive and related experience.
• History of improving manufacturing processes and ability to lead development projects.
• Strong engineering fundamentals in process improvement, forming, metallic processing, mechanics of materials.
• Deep knowledge of metallic manufacturing processes, tools, inspection methods and GD&T.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with teams and provide design inputs for manufacturability.
• Strong 3D & 2D design/drafting skills per ASME Y14.5M (NX preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own forming operations within the work center and deliver all formed products.
• Lead the development to form up to 20’ sheets for rocket primary structure.
• Create work instructions, specifications, and best practices across high-fidelity processes.
• Help standardize processes across the manufacturing team.
• Support shop floor with live issue resolution and upstream feedback.
• Provide DFM feedback to structures teams during development and flight builds.
